"Daisy Slash and Bugsby" Daisy Slash and her “dog” Bugsby, from the Fury Beats Universe created by Sergi Brosa. He also worked as a concept artist for Borderlands 3 so I thought I’d add a Borderlands feel to them while still keeping them in their own world. Game model built for my portfolio to show off some recent learning from Shane Olson’s 3D Character Workshop I started early this year. Sculpted in Zbrush, retop in Maya and textured in Substance Painter.

This is my entry for the Meet Mat 2 competition hosted by Substance Painter. This was my third work in Substance and was extremely challenging but I learned a ton and am quite happy with the finished model. The last night before submission I listened to a flipped normals video speaking on how textures tell the characters’ stories, so I added in some last-minute storytelling, a ding in the front that caused a small leak, scuffed feet, knees, and elbows, scratches around the outlet. I was just scratching the surface (figuratively and literally) with this notion, can’t wait to employ more of that idea into my next projects.

This is my final (with many updates) from my 3D Game Modeling Class last fall. Sculpted in Zbrush, Retopo in Maya and Painted in Substance Painter. This class was my first time using Substance and I absolutely fell in love with it. I've been using Photoshop for 20+ years and was thrilled to find that same feeling and ability for my 3D models.
